Today's task was to find out if pumpkins sink or float in water.
First we had to make a hypothesis.
Next we had to collect data by asking our friends if they thought a pumpkin would sink or float.
We used these three pumpkins. Does it matter the size? Color?
In order to do our best work, we had to have some nourishment of pumpkin bread.
Here we go. We had to collect our data.
Once we finished collecting our data, we wanted to represent the data in a table.
Our orange crayons came in handy while working with a table.
Next, we decided to take data on the entire class.
Then we decided to test our hypothesis. The biggest on floated.
The middle sized pumpkin floated.
So did the little one. All three floated, so the size nor color mattered. Why does a pumpkin float? Ask your a student in Mrs. Standlee's class. S/he can tell you.
