Holiday Gifts

We decided a few buttons, tongue depressors, craft sticks, red bells, ribbon and a glue gun would help us make a really cute holiday gift to make for our adults.

Mr. Domingo helped us put these darling gifts together.
We hope all of the receivers enjoyed their gifts.

Mrs. Sabo Visits!

Mrs. Sabo used to be a full time teacher at Emerald Park. She taught first and second grade when we looped.

Then she took a job as an editor for local teachers who write and publish books, newsletters and web sites for reading and math.

'
Now she works half-time for Emerald Park as our Instructional Coach. She came to show us her reading life and remind us about our IPICK good-fit books: I=me, P=purpose, I=interest, C=comprehend/understand, K=know most of the words. ]

What is the purpose for choosing this book? To have fun? To learn? To be informed? To be entertained? To be educated?
What is your interest in the book? Does it interest you? If you are not interested, you will have a difficult time reading the text.
Do you comprehend/understand what you are reading? If not, choose another text.
Do you know most of the words on the page? Remember the Five Finger Rule? If you have more than five words on a page that you don't know, put the text away and try again in a couple of months.

Thank you, Mrs. Sabo! We are so lucky to have you with us. Come back!
